WITDOM Credit Risk Scoring use case at ISSE 2017

The H2020 projects WITDOM (empoWering prIvacy and securiTy in non-trusteD envirOnMents) will present part of its final results at the next ISSE 2017 conference to be held on November 15th 2017 in Brussels, Belgium.

Ms. Nuria Ituarte from Atos will give the talk “you are outsourcing your data to the cloud, is it efficiently protected?” in the Workshop EU Projects 4 of the conference programme. This talk will introduce the WITDOM solution: a novel framework for end-to-end security and privacy that will guarantee efficient and verifiable provision of privacy in the context of ICT services owned by third-party providers of distributed processing and storage, with a particular focus on data-outsourcing in untrusted environments.

In this talk one project use case will be will be highlighted: the credit risk scoring. This use case shows how the WITDOM solution is applied to the financial sector by means of allowing the training of a linear regression model in the public cloud based on a proactive evaluation of customers’ past behaviour. This is later used to determine a numeric value to reflect the creditworthiness of a customer. The datasets used for training are appropriately treated and protected by WITDOM protection mechanisms before they are processed in the cloud. This ensures that the business operations and used data are not compromised, while leveraging the computing power that the cloud offers. On top of that, WITDOM allows end-users to to follow their normal flow of work. It will also allow them to manage outsourced datasets and perform modeling and scoring operations.

A demonstration of this use case will be performed during the talk in order to show WITDOM functionality. This functionality takes advantage of the research developed in the project, which deals with the actual design and development of tools for efficient privacy protection based on crypto and non-cryptographic technologies.
